The Produce Category Coordinator supports the Produce Category Manager in all relevant areas of the business. Under the direction of the Produce Category Manager, the Produce Category Coordinator will support retail item and price management, business report development and analysis, creation and distribution of department business tools, and support collaborative objectives between procurement, merchandising, and pricing.

Essential Functions

  • Coordination and communication of regular and promotional retail hosting with the marketing and data integrity teams
  • Manage weekly inventory count and recap sheets to assure accuracy
  • Coordinate and communicate weekly availability guides to facilitate store ordering
  • Utilize system tools to provide consistent reporting on every day, promotional, and holiday programs
  • Assist Category Manager with analyzing progress against department’s goals and objectives
  • Provide the stores with relevant historical sales data to make informed decisions about the department and how to maximize profitability with the direction from the Category Manager
  • Work directly with local and regional DSD suppliers to facilitate collection of item, cost, and delivery information
  • Work directly from the support office and be available to the stores both by phone and email during the hours assigned
  • Prepare easy to read and understandable files for Category Manger and stores which would include the use of Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and other office software
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • High School Diploma required with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Requires retail grocery experience with preferred natural foods and perishable commodity procurement of field management
  • Proficient systems/computer skills
  • Excellent customer service and ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Strong written/verbal communication and negotiation skills
