The Corporate Planning team includes SG&A, capex, and balance sheet/cash flow forecasting and reporting as the P&L consolidation function and company long range planning. The Senior Financial Analyst works effectively with all team members in Finance and across many of the company business units. This position leads and coordinates key planning, forecasting and reporting processes, and analyzes the P&L to identify opportunities/risks as well as drive business results. The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to utilize accounting and financial background to provide financial advice to the respective business partners. The Senior Financial Analyst will interface and partner with finance, real estate, IT, and leadership to improve operational & financial performance.

Essential Functions


Planning and Budgeting

    • Assists in the development of annual budget and long-range financial planning for Sprouts with a focus on capital expenditures, general & administrative expenses and total company financial positions
    • Builds financial models to support accurate planning and influence decision making
    • Partners with the business to establish budgets and long range plans


    • Develops monthly and quarterly forecasts for assigned areas of responsibility
    • Supports quarterly P&L forecast processes and summarizes forecast highlights, business drivers, risk and opportunities
    • Assists with consolidation of quarterly forecasts to represent total company position


    • Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators to influence financial decision making
    • Provides detailed financial analyses with recommendations to help teams drive toward financial goals


    • Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly presentations for leadership
    • Reports on key business metrics, including financial ratios on a recurring basis
    • Partner with the business to understand variances to forecast/budget and relay ongoing implications


    • Serves as project lead for ad hoc projects by managing objectives, deliverables, and key milestones with minimal supervision

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin or related field (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting (required)
  • Experience with budgeting, planning, modeling and forecasting systems
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with macros preferred
  • Solid experience in managing and creating processes/workstreams
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Strong track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong track record of business partnership
  • Grocery or Retail experience is preferred
  • Prior experience with capex or financial statement modeling a plus
