Overview

The Private Label Category Coordinator supports the Private Label category management team in all relevant areas of the business. Under the direction of the Private Label Category Manager, the Private Label Category Coordinator supports retail item and price management, business report development and analysis, creation and distribution of department business tools, and supports collaborative objectives between procurement, merchandising, space planning and pricing. The Private Label Category Coordinator also serves as the key Private Label point of contact supporting stores with all related inquiries and requests.

Essential Functions

  • Supports category management and food science teams with coordinating organizational compliance process for all Private Label products.
  • Supports the Private Label product development process in partnership with the Private Label category management and food science teams.
  • Coordinates and communicates regular and promotional retail hosting with the marketing and data integrity teams
  • Supports with managing product ingredients and formulas within Sprouts’ database.
  • Supports with administering Sprouts’ Private Label vendor certification programs.
  • Uses system tools to provide consistent reporting on every day, promotional, and holiday programs.
  • Assists Category Manager with analyzing progress against department’s goals and objectives.
  • Provides stores with relevant historical sales data to make informed decisions about the department and how to maximize profitability with direction from the Category Manager.
  • Works directly with Private Label suppliers to facilitate collection of item, cost, and delivery information.
  • Work directly from the support office and be available to the stores both by phone and email during the hours assigned.
  • Prepares reports and files for Category Manger and stores, requiring the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other office software.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ related grocery, merchandising and/or food industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with USDA/FDA regulations and quality assurance practices preferred.
  • Excellent financial, organizational, analytical and skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to management multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, sense of urgency, innovation and creative problem solving.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain effective working relationships.
