  • Overview

    The primary focus of this position is to assist in the development of strategy, management and execution of each advertising decision as well as ensure that all campaigns and initiatives are negotiated to fall within the approved department budget. These projects are time sensitive, deadline driven, and often times deal with highly sensitive and confidential information. The position requires a self-starter, detail driven, reliable, trustworthy and conscientious individual with a strong understanding of various advertising tactics.

    Essential Functions

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities    

    The candidate will require skills to communicate and collaborate with peers and/or supervisors in other departments in a timely and effective manner. Candidate must be self-directed and possess a high level of confidence to accurately summarize and execute decisions as well as effectively communicate strategies, creating alignment between all parties.


    This position will:

    • Attend strategy meetings and brainstorm on media buying initiatives
    • Research advertising opportunities in various markets and provide recommendations on appropriate media mix adjustments based on the goals that have been outlined
    • Serve as first point of contact, maintain close working relationships with media partners and stay informed of current and upcoming opportunities in each market, working closely with other channels within the department to best utilize the opportunity
    • Work closely with regional teams and other relevant parties to discuss plans and solicit feedback
    • Act as liaison between vendors, leadership and legal team to facilitate contract renewals and/or negotiations, gathering necessary information, tracking progress and follow ups, ensuring proper paperwork is on file, etc.
    • Complete additional assignments as required

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Advertising or Marketing preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in advertising or marketing; previous media planning experience preferred
    • Proficiency and comfort with technology – especially FTP and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidential information
    • Strong time management, organizational and proofreading skills
    • Ability to independently perform multiple tasks involving complex information, conflicting deadlines and constantly changing deadlines
    • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
