The Produce Procurement Analyst produces periodic financial, performance and market intelligence reporting by querying data repositories. This position devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.  The Produce Procurement Analyst is responsible for executing reporting and analysis, and for supporting predictive modeling of activities associated with produce procurement.  The Produce Procurement Analyst also supports the Senior Director of Produce Procurement with completing ad hoc reporting requests.

Essential Functions

  • Generates standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Synthesizes current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action.
  • Analyzes technology trends to identify markets for future product development or to improve financial results.
  • Collects business intelligence data from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources.
  • Creates business intelligence tools and/or reporting systems, including design of related spreadsheets or other outputs.
  • Documents specifications for produce procurement intelligence or information technology (IT) reports, dashboards, or other outputs.
  • Identifies and analyzes industry or geographic trends with produce procurement business strategy implications.
  • Manages timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
  • Creates and publishes weekly, period, and quarterly procurement performance metrics reports.
  • Ensures adherence to defined company-wide programs across all distribution center (DC) markets (assortment, grower/supplier, cost, promotion, etc.).
  • Supports development and management of key vendor performance tracking tools.
  • Coordinates and communicates key service level reports and updates for support and field teams.
  • Works cross-functionally with supply chain and support teams to process and manage new item and new vendor set-ups.
  • Supports development and ongoing maintenance of the SharePoint landing page and folders for the procurement team(s).
  • Communicates regional key ad item in-store merchandising transitions to procurement teams in support of proper ad exit procurement strategy.
  • Works directly with select national suppliers to facilitate collection of item, cost, and delivery information.
  • Serves as a point-of-contact at the support office and is available to stores by phone and email during the hours assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in perishable retail purchasing, business analysis or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Experience in generating or extracting data for analysis purposes, report-generating query tools and practice of statistical modeling required.
  • Ability to manage multiple, diverse tasks simultaneously.
  • Requires outstanding communication skills and a strong interpersonal attitude that demonstrates organization, multi-tasking and prioritization.
  • Requires experience with the Microsoft Office suite, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High degree of creativity and ability to work independently.
