This position directly supports the reporting and analysis needs of the e-commerce team.  The primary focus of this position will be to provide in depth analysis in operational and sales performance to help drive decisions on selection, pricing, promotions and strategy as well as identify areas to improve key operational metrics.  These activities are time sensitive, deadline driven and may deal with highly sensitive and confidential information. The position requires an individual that is an analytical self-starter, logical, detail oriented, reliable, trustworthy and conscientious with proven business acumen.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts deep-dive analysis on issues impacting business performance and provide input into operational (in-stock position), merchandising (selection, pricing, promotion) and strategic decisions.
  • Performs analysis using large volumes of transactional and customer level data.
  • Prepares, analyzes and delivers regular performance analysis including regular reporting on key business metrics at the department/category level.
  • Actively works toward insights and recommendations that will help the team meet business objectives.
  • Participates and supports in preparing presentations for leadership.
  • Builds models to support initiatives and influence decision making.
  • Analyzes current and past trends to identify areas of opportunity or diagnose root causes and assist in creating actionable plans to improve performance.
  • Works in collaboration with all e-commerce team members to ensure analytical needs are addressed.
  • Works with operations team on execution of any initiative or project to drive business performance improvement.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in analysis, business case development, modeling and reporting.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel; Experience with macros preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong work relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to acquire understanding of and absorb new information rapidly.
  • Ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a sense of urgency and a respect for detail.
  • Have strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Grocery, Retail or e-commerce experience is preferred.
