The Merchandising Manager, e-commerce, serves as the liaison between our e-commerce partners and the internal category merchandising teams to ensure that Sprouts’ ecommerce storefronts are optimized for assortment, placement and promotions. This individual will place a strong emphasis on collaboration, execution and problem solving to maximize sales and profits. The Merchandising Manager, e-commerce must contribute to the dynamics of a high performing team and operate as a self-starter.

Essential Functions

  • Leverages merchandising tactics and strategies to drive basket and traffic growth on e-commerce channels while also maximizing overall e-commerce margin and profitability.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all internal Sprouts e-commerce merchandising requests.
  • Coordinates cross-functionally to support e-commerce promotional or seasonal events.
  • Continually assesses e-commerce storefronts to identify opportunities to improve the assortment, placement and discoverability of products.
  • Proactively manages the additions and removals of products from the e-commerce catalog.
  • Collaborates with marketing to ensure that product images in e-commerce storefronts are up to date and reflective of the in-store experience.
  • Work with merchandising teams and e-commerce partners to expand the product selection in key areas.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for unique online assortment areas (e.g. case packs) or specific categories to emphasize (e.g. organic).
  • Works with operations team on execution of any initiative or project to drive business performance improvement.
  • Collaborates with internal resources to periodically analyze in store sales versus e-commerce sales for gaps and opportunities in product mix.
  • Supports a subset of merchandising departments within Sprouts (i.e. Grocery, Frozen, Dairy, etc.).
  • Maintains open, clear and consistent communication with all key personnel.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or related field plus a minimum of three (3) years of retail merchandising experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • e-commerce experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong work relationships.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Complete understanding of P/L statements, general ledgers, and margins.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information, communicate with all levels of management and work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.
  • High degree of creativity and ability to work independently.
  • Some travel required.
