  • Overview

    This manager position oversees the team responsible for the planning, forecasting, & financial analysis for the Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments at Sprouts. This position will need to effectively interact with multiple levels of leadership within the organization including Sr. Leadership for the departments they support. This position leads and coordinates key planning, forecasting and reporting processes, and analyzes the P&L to identify opportunities/risks as well as drive business results for their departments.  This position will also be responsible for coaching and developing a team of financial analysts in support of the above objectives.

    Essential Functions

    Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting

    • Assists in the development of long-range financial planning and annual budgets for Sprouts
    • Builds financial models to support accurate planning and influence decision making
    • Supports P&L forecast processes and summarizes forecast highlights, business drivers, risk and opportunities for business partners.

    Analysis

    • Analyze and articulate the “levers of profitability” of the business to provide a deeper understanding of key business drivers; and provide analyses and recommendations to help drive toward company revenue and profit goals
    • Department lead for analytics in support of Company dashboards and strategic reviews

    Reporting

    • Weekly & Monthly reporting on key business metrics for department leadership
    • Partner with the business to understand variances to forecast/budget, understand and relay ongoing implications

    Other

    • Serves as project lead for ad hoc projects by managing objectives, deliverables, and key milestones with minimal supervision
    • Support the planning / rollout of key Strategic Initiative within Operations
    • Engage in regular dialogue with department business partners to understand potential issues or conflicting priorities. Lead work in collaborative style, become a sought-out partner, and continuously evaluate the impact of corporate requests on business partners

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required. MBA Preferred
    • 6-8 years of experience in financial analysis; prior management experience preferred
    • 3+ years’ experience with budgeting, planning, modeling and forecasting systems
    • Grocery or Retail experience is preferred
    • Expert in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
