  • Overview


    The Sr. Creative Design Specialist will support our design strategy for private label brands and packaged goods, including overall positioning and design work across the portfolio. This position will be responsible for developing clear style guidelines and package design for multiple brands of currently 2400 products available only at Sprouts. They will work closely with the Sr. Manager Creative Services, Private Label Marketing Manager, Private Label Teams as well as third party vendors to implement designs that represent the brand accordingly. This position will also support in the development of other creative design projects requests across multiple departments.


    The ideal candidate must have a thorough knowledge of design with strong conceptual and production skills and the ability to execute all projects from concept to completion. Including but not limited to: product and stylized photography, image editing, graphic design, package design and creating product mock-ups. The Sr. Creative Design Specialist will interface with vendors and printers to ensure the proper standard of quality and visual representation of the brand and will also work with the internal creative and brand team to ensure the visuals are working towards the overall strength of the brand.


    It is important for the candidate to be able to implement established brand guidelines while still innovating and pushing the boundaries across many product categories. They will also have multiple day-to-day responsibilities that are extremely time-sensitive and require a high level of attention to detail.

    Essential Functions

    • Researches and evaluates design ideas based on design function relationships, visual appearance, serviceability, engineering, materials and methods, application, price and budget, manufacturing technology, market characteristics, and client specifications
    • Stays on top of design trends, reads publications, and consults with engineering, production, marketing and sales reps to establish design concepts and researches user based needs that influence resulting design
    • Research and integrate findings into concepts and sketches to design ideas
    • Presents designs to stake holders and discusses any needs for modification, improvement and change
    • Concepts and designs packaging for products. Will also build product mockups as needed
    • Creates and communicates design solutions to stake holders through renderings and written documentation. Also, determines materials, construction, mechanisms, color, shapes, surface finishes, and manufacturing processes that are involved in the new product development process
    • Coordinates product photography with in-house and contract photographers
    • Other related duties as assigned



    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design/visual communications or related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
    • 7+ years of packaging or industrial design experience
    • Strong conceptual and creative thinking skills, as well as a solid knowledge of typography, color theory, design systems and layout principles.
    • Expertise in Adobe Creative suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Excellent creative conceptual design skills
    • Knowledgeable in current design trends
    • Ability to follow creative direction, maintain brand standards and work collaboratively. Ability to respond effectively and appropriately to creative feedback.
    • Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness, accountability and outstanding attention to detail.
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
