  • Overview

    This role is instrumental in the creation of internal and external financial reporting and assisting in technical accounting research. Responsibilities will be primarily focused on the day to day coordination and preparation of the Company’s financial reporting and assisting with researching technical accounting issues and drafting related documentation. The position requires an individual with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing financial statements and preparing documentation for financial reporting.  Position will report to Manager, Financial Reporting and interact with the Director of Accounting and Controller.

    Essential Functions

    • Assist overall preparation of annual and quarterly financial reports
    • Assist in overall preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
    • Assist in technical accounting research and implementation
    • Assist in compilation/preparation of management discussion & analysis (MD&A)
    • Compilation/preparation of footnote disclosures
    • Work with Finance and business departments during the data collection process to obtain required information
    • Assist in creating, preparing and administering Host Analytics and Workday reports to support the financial statement preparation process. Review and maintain the department’s calendars and request lists.
    • Assist in maintaining documentation and execution of internal controls
    • Review significant contracts and recommend accounting treatment
    • Prepare WASO on a monthly basis
    • Prepare accounting for stock compensation and related transactions


    Special Projects/Other

    • Complete special projects and ad hoc requests
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reporting
    • Administer equity compensation software

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

    • BS/BBA degree in Accounting required
    • MS in Accounting or MBA preferred
    • CPA preferred
    • 2-3 years in a Big 4 audit role and 1-2 years in an industry reporting role preferred
    • Strong core accounting, analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills
    • Strong organization and project management skills, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
    • Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
    • Ability to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional environment
    • Attention to detail
    • Demonstrated leadership ability and the capacity to anticipate and develop new processes with minimal direction
    • Proficient knowledge of computer skills including MS Office applications and intermediate technical skills related to accounting applications
